Allegorical Cunt and Other Cummemorative Practices

Allegorical Cunts and Other Cummemorative Practices is a utopian proposal for a queer erotic use of public space, born from an analysis of the monuments in the Collection of the Bureau d'art public de la Ville de Montréal.

I relate my alter-ego to these monuments, transforming them into sexual toys, jewelry prototypes, and objects for a new experience of the city through the crotch. Flaccid flags, floral phalluses, and an orgiastic revenge of allegories form a landscape where patriotic symbols are bastardized by a libidinous desire for emancipation.

Using drawing and installation, I create a queer relationship with the simultaneous presence of these monuments and my body in the urban space, aligning with the decolonial movement. The project was exhibited at the POPOP gallery in 2023, made possible by a Support Scholarship for Master's Graduates awarded by AEMAVM at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).
